  • Brush and branches

Not accepted

  • Household hazardous waste

City-owned landfill run by Republic Services. Bulky items such as old carpet, appliances, tree limbs, tires and fence panels are accepted with residential trash. Metal, computers and appliances go to recycling (NRH rate schedule). Household hazardous waste (paint, motor oil, pesticides) is not accepted: Arlington residents can take it free to Fort Worth's Environmental Collection Center, 6400 Bridge Street. TCEQ's household hazardous waste contact list (Oct. 2026) shows an Arlington one-day collection event on 11/14/2026. Hours conflict: the city's Garbage & Recycling page shows 'Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.' under the 'Republic Services Arlington Landfill' contact block without saying whether that is the landfill or the office, while the June 2026 city release and NRH page give 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The City's dedicated Arlington Landfill page (linked from the June 2026 release) could not be read on Nov. 2, 2026, so the conflict is not settled. The resident rates page gives no effective date, and the June 2026 release lists the landfill phone as (817) 354-2305.

Who can use it

Arlington homeowners whose permanent residence is in Arlington get free drop-offs: show a valid Texas driver license or Texas ID at the scale house; name, address and license must match the Arlington Water Utilities account (authorized users must live at the address on their license; not transferable). North Richland Hills households get one free entry per month with a printed NRH Landfill Coupon (valid confirmation number) and driver's license; paid NRH trips need a utility bill and driver's license. Contractors, landlords, other multiple property owners and apartment tenants pay regular landfill fees.
