What it takes

WM lists as not accepted: oils, tires, paints, batteries, electronics, lawn mowers and appliances. WM's location page shows no gate rates, and its main facility page (wm.com) could not be read. City of San Antonio Free Landfill Day is held here on Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Nov 14, 2026; Feb 13, Apr 10 and Jul 10, 2027) for San Antonio residential solid waste fee payers with a valid picture ID and their most recent CPS Energy statement showing the Solid Waste Fee. Loads must be covered with a tarp (City Ordinance #2015-09-10-0760) and a safety vest may be required. Accepted that day: appliances, bagged litter, carpet, fencing material, furniture, mattresses, tires (limit 6 passenger car tires per household), toilets and water heaters. Not accepted that day: roofing materials, sheet rock, dirt, brick, brush, lumber or construction materials, and industrial, commercial or construction waste. WM says qualified City of San Antonio residents (current CPS bill) may bring unlimited loads at no charge on those days and should call for operating hours. WM's facility page labels the hours "Residential/Cash Customer" while WM's location listing says no cash, so ask about payment when you call.
