Hand-unload and pull-off customers (the public): Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Saturday 7 a.m. to noon for everyone; closed Sunday. WM also lists 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays for pickup trucks with dump trailers and 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. for commercial vehicles and dump trucks. Holiday closures are not listed.

Everyone disposing of waste, and anyone helping them, must wear a safety vest. Loads must be securely tarped. Not accepted: batteries, liquids, household chemicals, paint, motor oil, used oil filters, computers, fluorescent bulbs and other hazardous materials; appliances (freezers, refrigerators, A/C units) go to CMC Metal, 1704 Howard Lane, (512) 442-2384. The phone is WM's collection and disposal sales line. Landfill and Austin Community Transfer Station share this gate (TCEQ 249D and 40306). WM's contact page gives weekday public disposal hours as 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.; its main facility page limits hand-unload customers to 4 p.m., which is used here. WM does not publish gate rates; call the landfill at (512) 272-9387.
